Recycling tips

Lambeth Recycling Doctors have been out on the streets over the past couple of months, discovering what residents have been putting in their recycling bins. The most common incorrect materials they've found are:

Plastic film: this has cropped up in one form or another in around 80% of the bins they've looked at. Although much household plastic packaging is recyclable, a good rule of thumb is that if it can be scrunched up into a ball, it can't be recycled.

Repowering London

Repowering London is working with Lambeth Council to develop and manage a new community-owned solar energy project to install on schools and community buildings in the borough.

This pioneering community energy programme will lower the carbon footprint of the borough while improving the financial resilience of its schools and community and providing the borough with locally produced solar electricity.

The first Lambeth Community Solar project is with The Elmgreen and Norwood schools in West Norwood; 100kW of solar panels is being installed this autumn on the schools' roofs.
