Coronavirus Poverty Relief Grant

Martin Lewis (the Money Saving Expert) has launched a £1m fund to provide grants to small and local charities who are directly helping with the COVID-19 response.

The fund is offering grants of £5,000 to £20,000 to small registered charities, or local arms of bigger charities, across the UK who are directly helping with the COVID-19 response in terms of poverty relief. Read on for more information.

Norwood & Brixton Foodbank

Norwood & Brixton Foodbank urgently needs extra hands at the Warehouse to pack parcels and drivers.

MYCommunity Lambeth

Age UK Lambeth has now rebadged their social prescribing service, launched a few months ago as Safe and Independent Living (SAIL), as MyCommunity Lambeth.  The service is now open to anyone over 18 who is in need of support. 

AgeUK provide brief-intervention, social prescribing support, allowing each person the space and time to focus on what matters to them. Each offer of support is individual and could include:

Clear Community Web: IT help in these current times

Based at the Upper Norwood Library, Clear Community Web can help non-profits, community groups and local residents during these confusing times.  Via one to one sessions and small group support, advice and hands-on help is offered to:

Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic: Lambeth signs pledge to support community groups

Lambeth Council has advised:

“along with a wider group of funders, Lambeth Council recognises that the covid-19 outbreak is an exceptional event that will have an impact on civil society groups, and want to offer reassurance that we stand with the sector during this time.  

To make good on that pledge Lambeth Council has signed up to London Funders which commits the organisation to taking a flexible, friendly and financially understanding approach when supporting the groups we fund and support.
