Covid-19 has made people really think about their health, and free help with losing weight is available in Lambeth to get you back on track. Lambeth Public Health supports the Government’s Better Health campaign – helping adults of any age reset their lives starting with a few healthy changes. 

Become a foster carer, become a hero

Fostering for children in Lambeth means taking a child into your home and welcoming them into your family. This is likely to be at a difficult time when they will really be in need a lot of love, support and stability. When you become a foster carer, you become a local hero, says Lambeth Council:

Community Connectors Course October 2020

Community Connectors are local people who link others in their local community with activities and organisations that can help improve their quality of life.  Lots of people in Lambeth do this naturally on a daily basis in unpaid capacities with no training or formal support, whilst others do it as part of a structured volunteering role in local community organisations.

Safer Streets for Schools

As first reported in the Norwood Forum's second Community Conversation Lambeth Council is introducing timed road closures at a number of local schools: School Streets.

West Norwood Football Club on tour - before the First World War

In a recent newsletter we reported on the birth of West Norwood FC (WNFC) in 1895 and their home at High View Park ground near the present day Royal Circus). Now in part two of their article, our friends from the Norwood Society report on the international tours undertaken by the club. It is hard today to contemplate such exploits by an amateur club.
