On Thursday 7 May 2026 residents in Lambeth will have the opportunity to vote for who represents them on Lambeth Council. But you will only be able to vote if you are registered.
If you are not registered, go to gov.uk/register-to-vote; it only takes five minutes online. If you know you will not be able to vote in person at your polling station because of being away, at work, or unable to get to the polling station, you can always register for a postal vote.

Timetable for the elections
- From Friday 27 March – poll cards are sent out
- Thursday 9 April, 4pm - close of nominations
- Friday 10 April, 4pm - statement of persons nominated - official list of candidates announced
- Monday 20 April - midnight: deadline for receiving new applications for registration
- Tuesday 21 April, 5pm - deadline for receiving new postal and postal proxy voting applications and for making changes to existing postal and proxy votes
- Tuesday 28 April, 5pm - proxy vote application deadline (not proxy or emergency proxies)
- Tuesday 28 April, 5pm - first date that emergency proxy voting applications on the basis of medical, employment or Voter ID related reasons can be made
- Thursday 30 April - first day to replace lost or spoilt postal votes
- Thursday 7 May - polling day - polling stations open 7am to 10pm
- Thursday 7 May 5pm - deadline for applying for replacement postal ballots and for making emergency proxy applications
- Thursday 7 May 10pm - deadline for receiving applications for a Temporary Voter Authority Certificate
- Friday 8 May from 9am - election verification and count takes place. First results likely to be declared from 1pm onwards
