A new drought-resilient garden is being created at West Norwood Train Station by Open Orchard and the community is invited to help bring it to life during a planting day on Saturday 28 September.

Following a successful ground-preparation session - where volunteers terraced the area with reclaimed logs to improve biodiversity - the Open Orchard team is now calling for help to plant over 50 species of flowers, trees, grasses and shrubs.

No gardening experience is needed and all tools will be provided. Volunteers should be aged 16+, bring gloves and wear suitable footwear. Light rain won’t stop the event, but heavy rain will postpone it.
