TfL Confirms Changes to Rosendale Road Junction with Work Starting in 2026

Transport for London (TfL) has released its decision report on the planned changes to Rosendale Road Junction of Thurlow Park Road (A205). The decision report can be read in full here.

The changes incorporate the planned Brockwell Park to Gipsy Hill healthy route extension into this junction, including a bi-directional cycle lane. Norwood Forum reported on the initial design and consultation here and submitted a representation as a stakeholder, a summary of which is included in the decision report.

The revised design includes the following changes:

  • A left turn from Rosendale Road (southbound) onto the A205 (eastbound) will now be retained.
  • Cyclists will have a dedicated signal phase, separate from both motor vehicles and pedestrians.
  • The inclusion of a yellow box junction is still under consideration. This was proposed in representations made by Norwood Forum, other stakeholders, and local councillors.

Work is scheduled to begin in 2026. We will share further updates as they become available, including Lambeth Council’s decision on the proposed extension of the Healthy Route further south, which is still pending.
