Families are invited to celebrate the season with a fun and interactive drama workshop at L’Arche Craft Shop this August. Part of the Ready, Set, Drama series, this joyful session is designed especially for children aged 4 - 11 and their grown-ups, and offers a playful way to explore storytelling and performance together.
Led by adults with learning disabilities alongside experienced drama facilitators from L’Arche and South London Theatre (SLT), the workshop will introduce participants to basic acting techniques through body warmups, expressive dance, creative games, and plenty of imagination.
Together, the group will dive into the tale of ‘How Summer Came to Canada’, using props, improvisation, and collaboration to discover whether Lady Summer managed to defeat the Winter Giant!
All children must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult, and participation from grown-ups is encouraged - this is a shared, inclusive experience. Families are also invited to bring along a favourite summer object, which will be woven into the day’s storytelling.
This event is part of L’Arche’s ongoing mission to foster creativity, inclusion, and community spirit, and is made possible with support from the Beckenham Theatre Trust.
L’Arche is operating a ‘Pay What You Can’ scheme for this workshop. Ticket prices can be adjusted on the booking page to suit individual circumstances.
