Norwood Forum works with (or has contacts for) all of these organisations and if we can help you get in touch with any of them, please let us know: info@norwoodforum.org
The area we cover is roughly from Brockwell Park in the north to Crown Point in the south and from Leigham Court Road in the west to Croxted Road in the east and these local groups mostly fall within this area.

Norwood Forum mostly focusses on residents, whilst Station to Station Bid - our local business improvement district organisation - focuses on local businesses
We have a close working relationship and are in contact almost daily.

Key local organisations
West Norwood Feast
Started in 2011 as a high street regeneration project, West Norwood Feast ranges across four 'hub' areas with a mix of stalls and entertainment and has just celebrated its 15th birthday.
Feast happens on the first Sunday of every month from April through to December each year.
We sometimes have a stall to promote our activities and recruit volunteers.

South London Botanical Institute
Situated in Tulse Hill, SLBI run botanical events, talks, walks and educational activities which aim to amplify the vital relationship between plants and people.

Lambeth Horticultural Society
Lambeth Horticultural Society is for local people who are keen to give gardening and horticulture a go, and for everyone who’d like to learn more and meet other gardeners.

Open Orchard
As well as maintaining many fruit orchards they have planted, Open Orchard manage the Bzzz Garden at West Norwood Bus Garage (meet every Sunday 10am-12noon) and are involved in many other tree planting projects.
They also run the SE27 Street Gardens group and built and maintain a garden at West Norwood Station

South London Theatre
Founded in 1967, SLT is a large, well established, repertory style non-professional theatre based at the Old Fire Station in West Norwood

The Portico
The original community hub in West Norwood - inspiration for many local projects and home to many start ups too. Now a well respected venue and multi studio space providing facilities for community and creative projects in arts, film, music, dance and wellness.

Friends of Gipsy Hill
Friends group especially focussed on the area around Gipsy Hill Station but also work more widely on community projects in the Gipsy Hill area including running a bi-annual Village Fete and hosting a Christmas Tree with carol concerts every night outside Gipsy Hill Station.

History and Heritage
Norwood Forum is a member of the Lambeth Local History Forum and has installed a blue plaque trail in West Norwood which you can follow for yourself here.
West Norwood Cemetery
Recently completed a 7year, nearly £8m Heritage Lottery funded project to open up the cemetery to the community. Now with a new Visitor Centre complete with a new exhibition, venues to hire for community events, and many new ways to explore its 40acres of Grade II listed landscape that includes 400yr old oak trees.
Friends of West Norwood Cemetery
Friends group that runs walks and a Saturday morning gardening group as well undertakes research and publishes a quarterly magasine.
The Norwood Society
Also a member of the LLFH, the Norwood Society run walks and talks about local history, publishes a quarterly magasine, publishes its own books and facilitates several research projects include Norwood Street Histories which has its own dedicated website.

Other important local not-for-profit organisations
Rathbone Society
A long standing local charity based in West Norwood at the Old Library supporting adults with learning disabilities and young people to thrive in their communities. They also run the Hive Cafe on Palace Road in Tulse Hill, and the Community Hall on Central Hill Estate in Gipsy Hill. All three locations have spaces for public hire.
Nature Vibezzz
Dedicated to taking the community outdoors, especially those who are not so confident about themselves or around nature, Nature Vibezzz run many free events and activities.
KnitWits
Meet in West Norwood Library every Wednesday 10.15am-12.15pm to knit, crochet, sew and socialise. Once a month with a guest speaker
The Stitch
The Stitch is a weekly meet up of people who want to knit, sew, tailor, upholster and craft together.

St Luke's Parish Church
Celebrating 200yrs in 2026, situated in the centre of West Norwood. It is a very community focussed church and is at the heart of West Norwood Feast.
St Matthews Roman Catholic Church
Also in the heart of West Norwood, just across the road from St Luke's
Chatsworth Baptist Church
Founded in 1878 and rebuilt in a mid-century style after a V2 bomb destroyed the original (see our Blue Plaque trail), many community projects and spaces for hire.
Lansdowne Evangelical Free Church
Strong links to our local Portuguese and Brazilian heritage community
West Norwood Spiritualist Church
Spiritualism is a metaphysical and religious belief that the world consists of both matter and spirit

Especially serving our Portuguese and Brazilian speaking community
Tulse Hill Methodist Church
Celebrated 150yrs in 2022, former church was demolished in 1967.
Holy Trinity & St Matthias Church, Tulse Hill
This church runs a number of groups including a Money Advice Centre, children’s and Youth Church, groups for senior citizens, men, women and a monthly boardgames afternoon; plus small groups for people to support each other, explore and learn about our faith.
Christ Church Gipsy Hill
This church in the centre of Gipsy Hill has a strong outreach programme for all ages

Another church with a strong community ethos under its 4All banner.
