There are unexpected recycling opportunities out there. Here is the latest - your spectacles.

 

R. Woodfall, our local optician at 286 Norwood Rd, SE27 9AF, will accept your old glasses. They send them to Lions Recycling for Sight and Hearing - Lions International which sorts and grades them and ships them to partners in the Global South, such as charities working in Nigeria, Kenya and The Philippines. 

 

If you have replaced your glasses lately, and don't know what to do with your old ones, this is the answer.
