West Norwood Feast: volunteer co-ordinators sought

A volunteer co-ordinator and a kit co-ordinator are needed by West Norwood Feast.

As many of you will know already, West Norwood Feast is officially out of lockdown and running on the first Sunday of every month. Its a community event built around 100 market stalls over five sites along the high street. Feast is run almost entirely by local volunteers who book the stalls and organise a full programme of free children’s activities and live entertainment. It is a farmer’s market, a craft fair, a flea market and a street food hub all rolled into one. Feast employs a part time coordinator to support approximately 40 regular volunteers, plus more occasional supporters.

They are looking for two different 'co-ordinator' volunteers - someone to help managing the wider volunteer team, and someone else with practical skills who can be responsible for the care and repair of Feast kit - tables, gazebos, noticeboards and signs etc. For the kit role you'll probably need a car for transport and be able to lift and carry a decent weight. Here are some very broad outlines of the roles – please state which role(s) you are interested in to find out more:

Volunteer Co-ordinator - looking for an outgoing, community-minded individual with organisational skills to support volunteer recruitment and organise volunteers for Feast day

Kit Coordinator – looking for someone practical who can offer the TLC that equipment requires to remain in tip-top shape. We are looking for an organised individual with some practical skills and is able to carry out a moderate amount of physical work
