NHS – Brixton pop-up covid vaccination clinic outreach team - URGENT

The NHS in Lambeth will be running a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Brixton Library this Sunday 25 April from 12noon - 5pm. They need help to promote the drop-in clinic to local residents by sharing flyers and information throughout the local area on the day. Working in pairs, can you speak encouragingly to people out and about around Windrush Square about getting vaccinated, hand out flyers and point people in the direction of the Library? Briefing information will be sent to you in advance and there will be a clinical contact on site during the afternoon for information and support. They are looking for a diverse range of volunteers who look and sound like the great variety of local people – Spanish, Portuguese or Polish speakers, and members of the African or Caribbean communities are particularly encouraged but absolutely all are welcome. Please note that you will be working outdoors and walking/standing constantly so a reasonable level of fitness is required. And although you will be outside, as your aim is to talk to local people, wearing a mask is recommended unless you are exempt. Please sign up here

AgeUK – home cooks

AgeUK are very excited to launch their new ‘Home Cooks’ project. Home Cooks is a service designed by MyNeighbour to support members of our local community who may not have access to a hot meal, for all sorts of reasons. They are looking for volunteers who love cooking and can deliver a meal to someone in their local community. This could be a one-off meal, a weekly meal, every couple of weeks, even twice a week – its completely up to you to decide who you would like to cook for, and when, based on your favourite foods, your availability and where you are located. Please get in touch to find out more.

Community TechAid – hub assistant

Community TechAid is a local charity helping Lambeth residents by cleaning and clearing tech donations from the community in order to supply smart phones, tablets and computers to children and adults who would not otherwise be able to obtain them. They need more volunteers who can work for 2-4 hours Monday - Wednesday at their hub in Brixton, assisting the tech team by preparing and cleaning devices ready for collection and delivery. The role is not technical, however some basic computer skills are required. Please can you help?
