Young athletes across the borough have two exciting opportunities to represent Lambeth in major London competitions. Whether passionate about cricket or long-distance running, now is the time to get involved.
London Youth Games Indoor Cricket Trials (2025/26)
Girls and boys are invited to trial and train for selection to represent Lambeth at the London Youth Games Indoor Cricket Competition on 22 March 2026
Training days: Fridays 20 & 27 February 2026; Girls 4-5pm Boys 5-6pm
Where: Brixton Recreation Centre, 27 Station Road, SW9 8QQ (Main Hall)
Who can take part?: young people who:
- Live in Lambeth or attend a Lambeth school
- Are in School Years 6–8
These sessions will be used to select the squad for the one-day indoor cricket competition in March 2026. Late arrivals are welcome. The priority is participation and development.
Team Lambeth – 2026 London mini marathon trials
Young runners are invited to trial for selection to represent Team Lambeth at the 2026 London Mini Marathon, taking place on Saturday 25 April 2026.
This prestigious annual event sees young athletes from 33 London boroughs and across the UK compete in a 2.6km road race on part of the official marathon route.
Who can take part?: young people aged 11–17 who live in Lambeth or attend a Lambeth school
How selection works: athletes must submit a qualifying time (Parkrun, Power of 10 or track race) by 16 March 2026.
Only six runners per age category can be selected, so early submission is encouraged.
