Lambeth Archives to move

After 133 years of archive collecting at Minet Library, the Lambeth Archives service is to close temporarily and move to a new purpose built service on Brixton Hill.

Lambeth Archives is the record office and local studies library for the London Borough of Lambeth, holding the historic records of Lambeth council, the deposited records of many local organisations and a local studies and museum collection.

The Minet Library site closes on 31 December 2022. Last minute visits need to booked; see this web page for further information.

The new pupose built accommodation is on the ground floor and basement of the new building on the former site of Lambeth Council offices at 18 Brixton Hill: Olive Morris House. The new Archives are expected to open to the public in the summer of 2023. No visits will be possible from 1 January 2023 until the new site opens.
