Lambeth are running extra Covid-19 PCR testing in West Norwood

Due to a localised rise in new cases, Lambeth are encouraging everyone who lives, works or studies in West Norwood, Clapham, Brixton and Stockwell to take a Covid-19 PCR test whether they have symptoms or not.
The extra testing is being provided as a precautionary measure after a rise in local infection rates, and some cases of the Delta variant – first identified in India – having been detected in the borough.
There were 179 cases recorded between 24-30 May and the current positive case rate is 54.8 per 100,000 people.
This is comparable to September 2020 prior to the second wave of infections.
However, the number of tests being carried out within Lambeth has increased substantially in recent months with around 400 tests carried out per 100,000 people.

What to do if you have been vaccinated (once or twice) or recently tested positive
If you have been vaccinated with one or both doses, you are still encouraged to get a PCR test.
If you tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 90 days using a PCR test, you do not need to do another PCR test on this occasion.

How to get a test
The council has set up a temporary test site where you can get tested in person in Waylett Place car park in West Norwood. It is open daily from 8am until 3pm. You can also pick up a PCR test kit to do at home if you prefer. Please return it to the same test site. You will need to book first if getting tested in person.

To book a test, find out more about this and alternative testing sites, and the different types of Covid-19 testing, please visit the Lambeth website: lambeth.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

Vaccination
Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself from Covid-19, and two doses provide the best protection including against new variants of the virus.
