London wildlife trust: First signs of spring are on their way

The Centre for Wildlife Gardening in East Dulwich is a brilliant place to unwind and get closer to nature.

Wander through the demonstration garden’s mini-habitats. You’ll spot something new every visit.

March is especially lively - it’s peak time for toads, with plenty of spawning, mating and croaking happening in our four ponds at the reserve. Making it an ideal spot to look for frog and toad spawn!

Species to look out for: Common toad, common frog, smooth newt, goldfinch, great tit, bluebell.
